Two projects constructed by Leighton Asia were recently recognised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and Professional Green Building Council for their sustainability performance.
Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point (HYW BCP) project
The HYW BCP project received a Green Building Merit Award under the New Building Category: Completed projects – Institutional. The HYW BCP is the first land-based gateway between Hong Kong and China that provides direct access facilities for passengers, public transport and local vehicles.
Our team supported the client to deliver this integrated facility with a green design. The project showcases sustainable and ecological considerations through landscape measures, enhanced public accessibility and improvement in neighbourhood amenities.
The Columbarium and Garden of Remembrance (CGR) project
The CGR project at Tsang Tsui was shortlisted as a finalist of the Green Building Award under the same category.
This project was also awarded the Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM) Plus New Buildings Platinum rating by the HKGBC last year. Throughout the planning, construction and commissioning of the building, our team ensured the construction works were in-line with a comprehensive set of environmental criteria.
The accolades Leighton Asia has received from Hong Kong’s leading bodies in green building is a testament to our excellence and long-term commitment to sustainability. Our ability to deliver safe, high quality and sustainable projects is a differentiator for our business.
